TSOB School of Music’s Mission is to push creative boundaries in music and film by producing high quality, culture-driven content that reflects the spirit of celebrating unity, resilience, and the global power of the Hip Hop culture. Bringing both creative and strategic expertise to every project, intersecting storytelling, sound, and entrepreneurship, and striving to create unforgettable experiences that connect people across cultures through film, music, and media.

The program will feature an experiential teaching and learning approach, grounded in the real world of music production and marketing, and follow a learning community/cohort model that places peer collaboration at the center of the educational experience: audio engineering, music production, and digital cinematography, mixing, mastering, and sync licensing for hip-hop, Afrobeats, R&B, pop, and African diaspora music—blending cultural influences to create a sound that’s globally inspired and deeply rooted in identity.

Students admitted into the program are required to study music theory, performance skills, history, culture, music production, and songwriting. They also learn about entertainment law, record promotion, marketing, publicity, branding, and other concepts that modern musicians need to understand to succeed in the evolving music business.

This cohort program begins with all students taking foundational classes in music production, composition, history, performance, and entrepreneurship during their first four semesters.

THE SOUND OF BROOKLYN (TSOB) RECORDS is an independent record label and state-of-the-art recording studio based in the Brownsville  section of Brooklyn. TSOB was created at the dawn of the new Millennium as a vessel for communicating ideas and promoting careers for urban youth in the $29.6 billion global music industry, behind the scenes as well as in front of a microphone. TSOB is working to create a new musical dynasty built in conjunction with the talented and visionary young men and women in Brooklyn USA.
